Blake's 7

Created by Terry Nation the mastermind behind the Daleks, Blakes7 was produced for BBC TV in 1978 and ran for four seasons. Like so many sci fi series of the era, Blakes 7 now enjoys a huge cult following highlighted by memorabilia conventions up and down the country. (Click here)

The storylines revolve around Roj Blake and his band of renegades as they bid to stay one step ahead of the all powerful and ruling Terran Federation from whose prison they have escaped. In the episode The Hostage, Judy plays the role of Blake’s cousin Inga, a courageous, intelligent and feisty young revolutionary who is set as bait in a plot to lure Blake to his death. Held as a hostage by one of his old adversaries on a remote planet, plot and counter plot unfolds as out hero speeds to the rescue, finally winning the day with the aid of his loyal contemporaries, state of the art computer systems and superior spaceship, The Liberator. Cast by producer Vere Lorimer for whom Judy had previously worked, she recalls filming the series as a great deal of fun. “There was a lot of running around, quite a bit of screaming and a fair amount of shouting to be done,” she laughs “But most of all I remember the off screen banter. The regular cast had a wicked sense of humour and everyone was targeted especially the producer. And I don’t think I’ll ever forget my costume! A man brought it to me at a convention for signing and I remember hoping he hadn’t had to pay too much for it as there wasn’t an awful lot of it,” she beams.
